Meet Cody, our Financial Mentor with a huge heart.

"The Kahukura is the lead bird at the head of a flock of Kuaka (Bar-tailed Godwits). During their massive 12,000 km migrations, this lead bird cleaves the air to create an uplift, providing the lift and impetus that makes the long journey easier for the flock to follow".

If there’s one thing we know about Cody, it’s that she will make friends wherever she goes, literally everywhere! With a heart for helping others and a passion for her community, Cody volunteers her time at local community meals and is a familiar, friendly face throughout Tauranga.

Known as a legend at the Otumoetai Social Supermarket, Cody dedicates two days each week to supporting and connecting with customers, ensuring they are aware of the many services available, not only through BFM, but also through the wide range of organisations working to support our community.

Cody became a Financial mentor because she has personally experienced financial hardship. Having faced these challenges herself, she is passionate about helping others avoid finding themselves in the same situation. Her lived experience, compassion, and understanding allows her to connect with people in a genuine and meaningful way, creating a safe and supportive environment for those seeking guidance.

Her dedication to helping others, combined with her unwavering community spirit, makes her an invaluable mentor, an exceptional Kahukura, and an inspiration to all who have the privilege of knowing her.
